pics of my arows...still hangin in

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Don't worry about the feeding part but focus on getting the tank fully recyled. Larger aros will take longer before they eat in a new tank (My largest one took three weeks before began eating). Feed them sparingly for now. They will let you know when they are ready to eat.

How about an update on that monster of yours, David?

man, that tank looks like crap. but im sure you've heard that enough alreadyd. u should not have tossed them in there :(

whats the worrd on ur water conditions?

THANX FOR THE INTEREST GUYS they are doing fine now and both eating..i stopped putting all that crap in the water like ammo loc and all that other crap..doing water changes every 5 days of about 35 gallons out of the 125...just using aqua clear water cond. and water par. are good...my marble ray died yesterday though...sucks he looked awesome in with them

Good god man....you had a ray in there also? Why don't you pull those arrows out and let the tank cycle? It sounds like you have another aquarium.

I would move the arrows(it's too late for your ray) and put some crap fish in there and start adding bio spira or some other bacteria daily to cycle the tank. You only delay the cycling if you change the water daily(posted earlier) or such. One Adult Arowana is too large for a 125 gallon tank.

yea, arrows might tolerate that awful water but rays surely won't, do you have pics of them all together? you really shouldn't have jumped into the hobby the way you did, it's really upsetting when i read threads like this, bol of luck with your arros, i see your in jersey if you want to sell one of them hit me up, i'm in delaware

I understand how frustrating it can be with a new tank. But I swear by one good tactic: find a friend or SOMEONE with a cycled tank, and ask them if you can have the media from their filters....that's right you want and NEED the nastiest filter media from other another tank you can find. Get it all...including the dirty water from the filter itself. Squeeze the media into your tank and literally leave the media in the water a few days. You will be amazed at the transformation from dirty, brown water to clear water within a few days.
The tank needs to be comparable in size to the one you have now and cycled already (will not harm a cycled tank as there is plenty of beneficial bacteria established not only in the filters, but throughout the entire tank as well).

After my 135 gallon split, I needed to buy another tank. I was able to have my new tank within proper parameters within a week this way and it is 220 gallons. Good luck I hope you are able to do this before your other fish die as well.
