Definitely add some white sand, gravel, or rocks for the substrate; it will make the fish much more noticeable than they are now. Pool filter sand is extremely cheap and looks pretty good, too.

You could then have some darker smooth river rocks scattered here and there to give the bottom are very pleasant appearance.

The bass may move the substrate around to make a nest or two, so you might end up with some little bass in a few weeks.

paint the wall black. It will stay warmer then the surounding area in winter and help keep the pond alittle warmer.

The bottom is slanted so I stepped into the bottom when it was a hole a bunch to create shelves for sand. In life they stand out really well, I'll try some sand, i like the rock idea in the sand. I dont care if they move the sand around, you can't really tell 3 feet down lol. and you can't see it but next to the crystal there's another rock wall that i plan to plant some lillies on. I was goin to add a longnose gar, any other gars i should add or a different one?

Troppond, didn't you have salmon frys??

pier was sick when i captured hima and marquette died when the pump broke in a storm and so the waterfall/stream drained and although the darters lived, he died from low oxygen levels for about an hour

i just realized the biggest and dominant bass is a spotted, i thought it looked a lot different from the others but i just figured its because they are from different ponds... i still love him though, hes the one in the group shot with his tail bent

Go with either a longnose gar, shortnose gar, or spotted gar since those three are native to where you live. Make sure that it's sufficiently bulked up prior to being overwintered; you can do that by making sure it has food at all times when it's under 12" or so.
