Common name: Cobalt blue (Haplopelma lividum)

thanks its a really kool colour, i like the snake , ive just got a snake only yesterday, do you no how long it is before i can get him out to handle him?

Lilly, it's good to wait about a week to let the snake settle in. What kind of snake is it?

it was up as a common boa but i dont think its a red tail as its almost black.

i forgot to add its still a baby only 2 foot long so the colour and markings are not to clear yet

You should start another thread and post pictures of it. I'm not too familiar with Boa constrictors, but from your description, I think you're probably right that it's not a red-tail.

I like the pics! I don't think I would like keeping a centipede and all those T's, you are a much braver pet keeper than me!! But I admit that your collection is pretty impressive!

Great collection, Parabuthus transvaalicus is one of my fav. scorpions but the risk of envenomation is to much for me.
I can certainly understand your concern however as long as you are very careful and use the proper tools when working with them them I don't really see a reason to worry much about their venom because the likelihood of getting stung is like extremely low if at all. :)
