I put this together in about an hour. I made the pond myself for $11. I used gravel from on of my old tanks. Next I will landscape it and try to make it look good. Also here is a pic of the Koi that I bought for it. If you look closely you can see the little wiskers. I think I will name him little fu-man-chu.

nice pond....cheap too!

so were the fish and plants free then?

My back yard is all fenced in and the pond sits in the shade all day long. The pond is almost a foot deep. When the Koi gets bigger I will get a tank for him or just build a bigger and better pond. All the plants were free and my girlfriend bought the Koi even though I picked him out. The two plants in there are water hyacinth and water lettuce.

petsmart has those small water pumps that will offer water movement but no filtration. they have a tiny sponge compartment to protect the pump is all. if u fix the pump to something to have it raised, it can shoot a stream of water from the water. i had that in a small tub pond for a couple of baby koi. i had the option of a hob filter though.

What about drilling a whole though the pedestal. Then. Use some hose and a string to turn it into a mini foutain/waterfall. That would look terrific, AND provide aeration.

She bought the fish? Does that make you a kept man? :naughty:

Filter:

A plastic shoe box with a fountain pump mounted inside. Cut a hole in the top for the fountain head pipe, and 1/2in holes around the sides and top for water entry to filter (bottom too if you want. Put quilt batting in the box for filter material (cheap) (put a piece of screen material around the pump inlet) . And use a bell shaped fountain head (it's pretty, gives alot of surface area without height, & alot of splash to the water). You can paint the box black or glue gravel all over it so you can't see it.

Yea, but my camera died so it will take a couple if days before I can get some pics up.
