Keeping the water clean with more frequent water changes, and some beefed up food with vitamins would be good. You may want turn the heat up on the tank a little as well as treat the water with metronidazole, which is used to help heal and prevent scares for hith.

Well technically it can erode on the lateral line before the sensory pits...it wouldn't make sense to call it HITH if its on their side?

I dont think you understood what i meant.

Its the same disease. Its caused by the same things. You can call it either/or. (whichever you prefer)
Hole in the head (HITH) is also known as head and lateral line erosion, or HLLE. They are just different ways of describing the same disease.

Your statement, "looks more like lateral line erosion than hith..."
is the same as saying "Sounds more like the Flu than Influenza"

I just dont want Piranhagrowing_Guy to get confused and think they are different diseases. Thats all.
:)

Can't really see anything, but if you think it's HITH, aquarium salt and water changes with a good healthy diet will cure it.
