1 week, the first half of the week it was typical cichlid aggression (chasing, lip lock) but each day the jag started claiming more and more of the tank, by the last day he had the entire 6' tank controlled and had attacked the oscar while I was at work leaving two good size gashes above each gill and a gash on the side...separated them an hour later.
