Pic's of my planted tank.

Modern heaters are built to operate vertical or horizontal, but if you go horizontal you dont have to turn it off for WC's. Also, since heat rises as it dissipates, the "heat cone" is larger & more effective when the heater is horizontal. Just saves a little bit on energy...

Hey dude 55 hey your picture is deceiving what can I say. I think your first big change should be your filtration, secondly I woul strongly point you in a different direction from the rock wall. Although they look nice they are VERY hard to keep clean giving little spaces for wastefo collect. Always man what do you need us for you have the education and the motivation, with that all will work out and if t doesn't big deal you know not to make the same mistake twice

To true Morphineh. but if you don't mind me asking, rock wall? kinda confused me there.
and as with the heater, i'm Australian mate, but i have it horizontal for the exact reason someone above said efficiency.

that part lols

I would suggest not adding a rockwall to your tank - They are most of the time more of a hassle then they are worth. They are just another place to collect waste in my eyes, but if done right can be half decent looking.
