Pics of my Pond

you could do large mout or small mouth bass, or blue gill or crappie

I had thought about bluegill since they are a bit nicer looking than other natives but could they live with goldfish or koi and what makes them more fun to watch?

They move around alot and can be trained to hand feeding.

Only problem with natives in ponds is nature evolved them with dark backs to hide them from preditors above.

And guess where we are looking at them from...

Natives are fun to watch, but best watched from the side, as in a tank.

I'm not trying to discourage you...just state the obvious. :grinyes:

I think any sunfish would work. Wouldn't try a LM or SM if you want to keep your goldfish. I have my green sunfish in an 800 gallon pond with goldfish. The sunfish eat until they explode so i have to feed alot to get the goldfish any food. Good luck

I like my sunnies in my pond. It is cool to drop in food and all the sudden see it dissapear with only a ripple of the water. If the water is clear enough you can see them from the side when they come up to you to eat. Mine always follow me when I walk around my pond with thier one goldfish buddy. The other goldfish kinda just watch me from the middle of the pond till I drop food in.

man that is a killer pond it looks reall modern but has that old school italy/spanish look to it nice job and the goldfish and koi look really good...keep it up

dr joe, never thought of it that way

but that is true

and bluegill can be mean as hell

Ha Ha... bluegill mean? I've watched bluegill knock other fish out of the water to get to food :WHOA:

They are cool.
