Well yesterday I thought and thought more and decided to do two things:
1. Set up my pond which I did!!
2. I ordered some fish from Rapps and I am really pumped-this will be the ultimate monster cichlid tank in history-anyways here is what I ordered:
Dovii
Jag
Festae
Trimac
Red Devil
Escondido
Black Belt I plan to put them in my 240 gallon and set up my divider.
Once the pond is cycled I will put the Umbee in there and when the other 7 are large enough introduce them to the pond-if every thing works this will be an awesome set up-should I add other fish or would that be pushing it-even for a 1032 gallon pond-I was thinking Black and Varigated Shark maybe an Achara Catfish.

I dont know if thatll work but square footage is the most important since they are territorial fish and you also have your 240 to put the killer in as a single tank specimen. While your at it throw a Buttikafri in there they are phsychotic.

Id need to see a couple more pics to try to guess his sex

man your so lucky to have an umbee. the wife says a 8ft tank for one 2ft long fish is too much. im seriously disappointed with her attitude towards my hobby :nilly:
very nice fish by the way.

Just do it they get over it. Ive done it soo many times i cant count anymore.

Good looking Umbee....... how's the temperment? You should look for a female if in fact it's a boy!

PMK-Rapps had some too-I should of oredered one beautiful fish with crazy aggression.
House-64-I don't think I want to breed him if in fact it is a male-which I think it is-this is the fastest growing Umbee I have ever owned. He is really aggressive towards me-he was with other fish for a little while and as long as they stay away from his cave and don't flare he pretty much leaves them alone-every now and then he will give a short chase to show he is boss-but I didn't see anything over the top. By the way I love your 15" Dovii-nice pick up!

cichlidinsomniac-Thanks. I feed him pellets, brine shrimp, shrimp, beefheart, and bloodworms-I stay away from feeders out of fear that he get sick. Actually the pics were around two-three months ago he is beefed up even more since then.

just thought I'd update you on my situation just recevied my
Dovii, Jag, RT, Black Belt, Red Devil, Trimac, and Escondido from Rapps on Tuesday they are all about 1-2 inches big so I put them in a 30 gallon (I know sounds crazy) Surprisingly though they are all getting along-they are kind of behaving like African Cichlids right now rather than CA cichlids.
