Point taken DB,i will be keeping several of my offspring for years to come so i will keep you all updated from time to time on their progress,im quite sure that genetics will dictate the quality of any pups my pair produce.

I think prices are governed by desirability regardless of species,look at some of the hybrids offered in the far East,some of these Leo x Pearls are mind blowing,others dont look that nice,these are often from the same litter......are they all worth the same.....i think not!!
A name is just a name after all.

huge difference in a marbled to a black SP ray from asia... not too mention they are a little :screwy: in the amount they offer for a fish but somebody there will always pay it...

like i said be thankfull your prices stay consistant...

No ones comparing Marbles to black rays,thats personal preference,personally i prefer Pearls and Marbles to black rays.What i am saying is would you pay more for a Black diamond than a normal Leopoldi? if the answer to this is yes then why? is it because it has more and larger spots that continue to the underside of the disc......or is it just another Leopoldi in which case the price should be the same......shouldnt it?

There's ALWAYS exceptions....

You are a Gr8 example..... Don't pay shibby for your Marble and it's one of the nicest in the country.... But keep in mind there are some of us here that are ready and willing to spend well over $500 even $700 on Marbles and still end up with ones that look like shibby compared to yours. Enjoy your beautiful ray.... I think I can speak for all marble keepers out there when I say we all would just love to have your kind of luck when it comes to scoring rediculous Marbles for stupid prices.

Another great example.... Trev's "Redtail" that is now one of the largest Armatus in the country.....

Luck.... Some people have it and for others.... IF it wasn't for bad luck they wouldn't have any...... :nilly:

I agree that prices should be consistant and that vendors and sellers take advantage of a fish or ray that looks good. But like Nic said, they name there price and someone seems to find the funds to pay it. That in turn keeps them selling it at that price.

Nice rays, RMM I have seen pics of look different than the RMM you have. I am not sure how they distingush each?

tads because MM 0only start marbling when they are at least 8 inches....this piece is a 1 mth old captive-bred pup...thats y only got very faint marbling....but one thing's for sure...I have seen the parents before...look alot like pearl rays man...really wish my puppy can grow up to look like them ;
