pics of tank

I'm no expert on dats, but I'm pretty sure that some do very well in brackish water (AT?). If thats the case, you could do a brackish tank with the eel and dats. A brackish tank would open up a whole new world of possibilities for other tankmates too.

A regular JD needs at least a 75 gallon (EBJD would work though), a snowflake eel would need at least a 125g brackish or full salt tank, pictus should be kept in a small school (at least 3-5 individuals), and a dat will eventually outgrow the tank. The bichir is the only fish out of that list that would work, and you'd have to get either a palmas or a sen (any other species will eventually need a larger tank).

But isn't a 55 to small for a dat, don't they get 16 inches?
I think AT's stay a little bit smaller, but I don't think a dat would be a good fish for someone who is used to only doing monthly water changes anyway.

i am hopefully getting rid of all my fish to day this is what i am thinking of getting
x1 JD(maybe ill steal my moms EBJD)
x1 bichir
x3 picyus
x1 small cichlid
im going to sell my fish to the fish store and but tons of live plants could i get maybe another small cichlid or something

^^^Be prepared to be doing 30-40% weekly water changes if you go with that stock...

...or you could just do what I have recently started doing and just do smaller waterchange daily, which for you would mean only having to change a single bucketfull every day (which adds up to over 50% per week).

I don't care about the amount of water because I just fill it up with my hose
Then why were you waiting so long between waterchanges before?
