My plan is to rase the salinaty up each week with water changes till i get to a brackish setup. Then after the tank has its cycle all set,i will get a (freshwater)snowflake eel. It will be small to it should not mess with the mollies for a little while. Meen while, ill set up another brackish tank for the mollies and leave the eel alone in the 55 till he gets too big, then ill upgrade to a biger tank. Should be fun!! cant wait till i can get the eel

Looking good, the white mollies look good against the black gravel, great work :)

Cool looking set-up! Is the tank a new set up? If you just set it up and want it to cycle, instead of raising the salinty week by week, just add 1 cup per 5 gallons and you will get a salinity of 1.010. That is what all of my fish are at and they love it. Then once the cylce is over, add the eel.

pics of my tank, Mollies LOVE freeze dried algae and algae wafers

it was a established fresh water tank with filters that have been established for a few years. my goal is to raise the salt level up .002 a week in hopes that the cycle will not lose to much BB
thanks for all the remarks

yup i agree and when the mollies have babies makes for great feeders

Ok,if i was to do this, how long should it take? Also, what test kit should i use, fresh or salt

Use marine salt, it dissolves easier.
