I have caught some really big greens that had some amazing color. So I am sure it is just kinda luck of the draw. I have caught some 8-9" that had better color than some of mine.

I have two. This is my largest one I guess he's close or at 7". My smaller more colorful one is in with my CA/SA. I just dumped most of my pics to disk so this is all I have (until wife shows me how to get the rest back). I'll try to get some shots of my smaller one tonight.

Thanks, my other one is much more colorful. His tank has a lighter whitish bottom.

the growth rate varies, mine grow about 1/4" a month while others will grow at 1" per month, but here are two pics of mine at 5"
