No, he meant he was lookin and found the pictures on the internet. It was fine what he did, just saying that some people can be touchy about their pictures, so its best to be sure to give at least some credit to where you found them, or whose they are. Some people take it farther and say they are mad cuz its got the MFK watermark on their. Stupid if you ask me.

I thought the point of the internet was open exchange. It's not like we're talking about forging copies of the declaration of independence. I can totally understand people wanting credit for their excellent fish and/or photos -people put a lot of effort and care into both and deserve credit (I''ll be sure to try and do better with that)...I guess I'm less understanding why anyone would put something on an open forum they didn't want shared around. That bit of rancour expressed- I will definately do what PP suggests as I think he has the right of it.

Pic credits aside that xingu 3 is really sweet...it's interesting that with all of the pikaholics we've got there doesn't seem to be a single xingu 3 amoungst us. Anyone ever keep them? Anyone ever keep the camentana? Which is blacker?

they are beautiful fish, and really you CAN use any photo you wish to on the internet, some people may get mad, but really there is nothing they can do.

what pikes do you own though?

A LONG time ago when i was first gettin into pikes I got a pair of sp. 'xingu III' before I knew what they were. They were $60 a pop, and I got lucky cuz there were only two. They paired up, and were some of the most beautiful pikes I've ever kept before. This was before I knew about the internet and forums, and taking pictures was difficult, as I had to steal my dads camera or use a disposable one. They never actually spawned for me, but they did do mating rituals. UNFORTUNATELY, I went away for three days, and I came back the whole tank was COVERED in ich. The worst case I have EVER seen. LITERALLY COVERED in ich. The fish were just laying on the bottom, close to death. I guess while I was gone my parents decided that they would be nice to them and treat them to some goldfish. Needless to say I lost EVERY fish in my tank. Twas very sad. Since then I have only seen them offered in the US a couple of times, and they AREN'T cheap. There ARE a few members though that have or had some...;).

Camenta is 'blacker', but the females of sp. 'xingu III' are just amazing!! ;) Camenta is also more 'sendentry' and less active than sp. 'xingu III'. A couple of us a couple of years ago, maybe only a year ago, got some marmorata from Rapps, myself included, and they turned out to sp. 'xingu II'. They are gorgeous pikes, and very kewl. Wish mine had made the move....:(

About the pictures I totally agree. It is stupid, and I agree if you got a problem with someone using your picture put your name on it or just don't put it up. Simple as that. We haven't really had any problems as of lately, but just wanted to reiterate and keep you guys aware. :headbang2 Thankz for being so kewl aboutz it! Thankz ya!
