Looks like you'll need to upgrade tanks if you want to keep those bala sharks long term. 29g? 38g maybe? Can't get a really good guess based on glass thickness.

its a 55, I know I need to, I have had a lot of life issues, 2 broke down cars and a job loss since I got them. This has pushed my plans to upgrade to a 240 back until Jun. They are all about 4 - 5 inches right now. If they get to much bigger I will have to just buy a 120 to keep them in. I have started to save all over again, and hope to get enough time for the 240, but will grab a 120 If i have to.

is that a paradise fish, looks big:eek:

He is a paradise, and he is the most gangster of all my fish, several weeks ago I had him in another tank. he jumped out while I was at work  I cam home found him dried up on the floor with dust covering his body. I went to toss him in the trash and his gills moved, I through him in the tank and he made a full recovery in about a day. I call him Z , Red tail is my second favorite after the Bala's but he is so mean to the other fish; I had to remove a couple smaller fish because of him.

Thanks for all the comments.

My smallest bala "boss" survived my newbie stage when i made him and 5 now dead bala's cycle my tank. It damaged him in some way as he hasn't grown at all, but he seems to be healthy and happy.
