thanks a lot fellas. that jaguar is one of my favorite all-time catches. I've caught lots of big ones but this was the biggest yet. some of the canals close to home are infested with them and also cichlids which are pretty ferocious when they hit small lures or flies.

the jaguar will hit just about anything but catching them on top water is my favorite.

Wow! I never knew the jags would hit top water baits. Its weird to see them act differently in the wild than they do in the tanks. Peacocks pretty much act the same way.

Any type of lure suggestion that you would suggest to use top water for Jags and Peas?

very nice

nice peacocks!

:WHOA: Holy $hit is that a big jaguar! how big was he

You keeping a checklist of all the species you have caught?

Nice pix stretch armstrong:D:D:D (j/k)

HEY!!!!!!!!! You're HERE! I dunno your first name but you, your bro and other guys from the FL board are like fishing celebreties here!!!!

I'm flattered!!!!!!!!! thanks for all the replies guys. sometimes you have to give the extra stretch to get the wanted effect...:grinno: for jags I would use small topwaters. my favorite is the tiny torpedo. for peacocks I like the tiny torpedo, small poppers, and skitter walks for the bigger ones. when they're really hungry I'll put on a double-prop smithwick lure and rip the ***** out of it!!!! always gets the big ones to bite....

never tried a skitter walk... have you tried any rattlin rapalas? there a great bait for pbass

awesome awesome fish.. in that first pic, is that a small king or big ol spanish mack? nice jack too, musta bell a hell of a fight on light tackle. that snook is massive too man. mostly artificial or natural baits?

the first pic is a small king. I try to stick to artificial unless the fish have lockjaw. for the snook you get a lot more bites on live bait then on artificials. the only place you'll catch them repeatedly on artificial is in the backcountry.

-I have a great story about the big cuda you see. It was caught in Key Largo on my lightest rod with 10# Ande mono. I was using a bomber Long-A and we were surrounded by them. When the cuda hit I set the hook and then he started running towards the boat. I was reeling as fast as I can to catch up. 2 seconds later he goes airborne straight for the boat!!!! I swear everything turned into slow motion after that. My friend was on the front deck and I was on the back. The cuda slammed right into the side edge of the boat between both of us and knocked itself out. then it went belly up and it took us forever to revive it. had it nailed one of us it would've sliced right through us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was an awesome day...

I plan on fishing south biscayne bay this saturday. If I do I'll post a report for you guys.
