Taiwan
Here's a link to some pictures of someone's fish in Taiwan breeding. Unfortunately, I can't read chinese. The fish keepers in Asia, in general, do things differently than people back home. So, just because people who can write in English claim that they are the first or only people to breed exotic species, doesn't necessarily mean they are. They are lots of Asians who have done things that blow my mind. The nearby LFS told me he has also breed red snakeheads in his home tank. I have no idea how he did it. I just wish I can read Chinese, and communicate more so I can understand how these people do things that we(English speaking people)have never done before.

Eggs? Fry?
Not successfully bred until fry, or at least eggs!
Though Ben has every good chance to do so.
He is an active member of the snakehead forum I mod at.

Can't imagine Reds being bred in a home Aquaria, unless it was a pool/pond...

But as tokyo they dont have babies yet so it could go either way.

I can't read Chinese, as I said. So, you know the guy? No eggs, huh? I wish him luck.

The reds were bred by mistake. He happened to have two of them in an 8 foot aquarium. They were only 50 cm at the time it happened. You can't keep them in there for life. I guess they can only breed at a small size in a small aquarium. As they get bigger, they have to go to a bigger place. BTW, can you read Chinese? I know that most Japanese read Kanji. It's a pity I never learned.

Very little Chinese. Not enough to warrant saying I do! Though I would love to learn.
