pictus cats are lovely! when i read that guy had a 9-10 inch one i was like waaaahhh??
they are really active though, id say about a 55 gallon tank would be adequate for a few. you 29 gallon would be fine for one i reckon. they're hard to get photos of though lol

he is a single cat in my 29 and just devored some bloodworms

BTW, Pictus Cats like to be in groups. You want a minimum of 5....

I had heard that so I bought 3 for my 90. The two bigger ones killed the smallest one the first night. I hadn't heard 5 though. 3 is what I was told. The two that are left are doing great though. They are very active.

singles do fine as long as there is no danger :)

Which species of pictus there many catfish that have pictus in there name they range in sizes from 4''-30''
pimelodus pictus gets 4''-5''
pimelodus blochii gets 10''-12''
pimelodus maculatus get 8''-10''
liearius longibarbis gets 30''

some will take algea wafers and all LOVE blood worms other foods like shrimp krill and fish fillets are good as we'll most will take flakes when young and a good pellet should be in all of these catfishs diet pimelodus pictus will do best in groups of atleast 3 regared less or any danger or competing fish there sorta like loaches except they don't get as deppresed as loaches when kept by them selfs the larger pictus cats do pretty we'll in groups except L. longibarbis but can be kept as a single

How big is it and does it look like one of the cats in those pics if its really active and is silver with black spots its most likely pimelodus pictus

it's a pimelodus pictus
yesterday i put in some bloodworms and he just bit half of them off the "cube"
