ive kept quite a few pictus over the years but havent had lots of luck with them. i have two left now from my last batch of seven i got last year and they are about 5" tl. will put some pictures up later.
most of my bad experiences with them stem from trying to keep them with larger cichlids and them subsequently being killed. im currently trying them with a flowerhorn so i guess i havent learned my lesson. but ive also lost some inexplicably during water changes, tank moves, etc. it seems to me they are more sensitive to water quality than your average catfish.
very entertaining and attractive catfish though. do a good job cleaning up too.
