PIKE cichlid experts?

I hope you are right. It just seems to be growing so slow is why I wasn't sure if it is male
 
Are you at all worried about housing it with that other pike? Pikes are known not to be very tolerant of other pikes.

Well, like all cichlids, pikes like to test their mate, and pikes are pretty hard on each other for mating compatibility. The smaller size puts your possibly male pike at a serious disadvantage, and could be killed easily. It's best to growout to full adult in a different tank, and then introduce using a tank divider. I prefer to introduce larger males to smaller females.
 
I typically agree with most SA & CA cichlids, but my experience with pike are they either immediately like one an other (after being of adult age) and are compatible or always battle never accepting one an other despite the introduction process. But I've been wrong many times and pike are wild animals like the rest
