Pike Cichlid HITH

Your pH and kH sound ideal.
Tannins are anti-bacterial to some degree, so even though your water has low pH, could help with HITH.
In the amazon basin where many pikes come from they are a normal part of the season, and thaddeus may help.

My pH and GH seem high compared to your previous reply where GH was effectively 0 and pH was 4.3, but I don't know if my pike is from that specific range or if my GH and pH are high enough to be causing it. My only other thought is diet (he refuses to eat plain pellets, so I stick pellets into silver sides).

Update: I did another large water change before adding in the alder cones. I noticed a few more pits on his head, it seems like it's progressing awfully quickly.
