Pike cichlid identification

Just picked this guy up. The lfs just said pike cichlid but didn’t know what type.

Look like sp Venezuela.

Thanks, that was my guess as well, but I’m not overly knowledgeable on the various types
Don’t worry. 99% of the time I’m make it up as I go lol!

Look like sp Venezuela.
I think that's it. I looked on the ID thread and it looks exactly like that. Im sure OP already knows, but these guys hit 16+ inches, so you should have a minimum of a 180 (6'x2'x2') for the pike cichlid when its grown up

I agree, I’m 99.9% positive that the Venezuelan was the correct ID. At the moment my tank is 60 gallons shy of that, but I have a while since all my fish are 3-6” and I have plans for a 300. If plans fall through, my LFS has a 1500g donation display tank. Should be good tho, I have a few connections for tanks where I live.
