pike fever... is there a cure?

all i wanna do is get the fish. anyone else get this fever and whats the cure?

I don't know about you guys, but I embrace the fever!!!!

Eat, sleep, breathe Crenicichla!!! Like darth once said "There are only two kinds of fish in this hobby. Crenicichla, and then dithers/feeders for Crenicichla!!!"

But really though, why resist? Crenicichla are totally awesome fish!!! Just can't get enough of them. There are few things you can do though that will make things easier on you.

• Accept the fact that none of your fish have a perminant residency in your tanks if you find a Crenicichla you want.
• Get tank dividers, and make sure they are super reenforced!!!
• Always be on the look out for more 55gal + tanks to upgrade your fish room with!!!
• GET MORE CRENICICHLA!!!

Setting up tanks dedicated to Crenicichla is the way to go. All other fish are only temporary or dithers. Simple as that. Also, always keep your Crenicichla in pairs, nothing looks better than a pair of pikes!!

and speaking of dithers. what does everyone think about gold gouramis? tried silver dollars with success but looking for something that i can get thats already decent size and not to expensive.

Any gourami but giants are pretty much destined to get pwned or eaten! Even the giants some times take a beating...

Haha me too. I love Pikes period so it's a no brainer. Besides helps me concentrate on my fishes needs! I am so addicted! I think my LFS are starting to hate me asking do they have any new or any Crencichla in. I haven't had much luck out here in Colorado finding what I want.
