The ones in the pic are both dandara. Males remain brown and females when bonded turn black with a red abdomen and white dorsal stripe. I meant I have both dandara and crenicichla xingu 1 but in different tanks. Yours will look like this until you find a suitable male, although dandara can be one of the most aggressive species so trying to find a male can result in one of them dying, which according to Jeff and Oliver is very common. I got lucky.... also Oliver lucanus (below water) in Canada has dandara if your looking for more

Thank you....Yea, best to get them in groups of 6-8 to get a pair. Most the time one and one result in death, gotta let them choose their own mates. Jeff rapps warned me when I first told him I was getting my dandara that all the ones he imported over the years absolutely hated each other and he had to keep them separate. I got extremely lucky with mine.
