Nope, thats either Crenicichla sp. 'redfaced lugubris' or a VERY nice Crenicichla sp. 'xingu II'. either way its not a tapajos red or a johanna...haha...i'm hopin its actually a mature xingu II cuz that means mine will turn out to look like that...haha..the pelvic fins match...:P
 
I agree; It looks like a female red-face lugubris. The snout looks more blunt than I would expect for a Xingu II. Although it is variable w/ mood, this fish isn't showing the humeral blotch, which is characteristic of the Xingu II pikes.
 
I said i was hopin...haha....would be nice if the xingu II's turned out like that. I've only seen pictures of adult males...I think....any pictures of adult female xingu II out there?
