Pike in a 230 with other fish

There's just no way to answer your question without knowing what type of pike. Also, are you planning on getting rid of any fish? If not, I could be wrong here, but it kinda sounds like the tank is already going to be pretty full once your current fish start reaching adult size.

The tank is not what I would call over crowded but does look busy all of the fish seem to get along have never seen any real agression in any of them I heard a crowded tank sometimes keeps the fish from fighting. If we put them in another tank what size would be good and which of the other fish could go with them. We have a deep 180 not yet setup we could use or some 90's but I think they would be too small.

Sorry, but like Jason mentioned, it's kind of impossible to answer your question about tankmate compatibility without knowing the ID of the pike. There are all different types ranging from dwarfs to 15" fish, and they range from mildly aggressive to really aggressive. Pictures would help to ID them.

If you're unsure, put them in a tank alone for now with lots of cover so that they can hide from each other. They may very quickly kill one another if they're not paired off.

I will say that I had some 5" lugubris-type pikes (possibly C. johanna) in my 210 gallon with large adult severums and a parrot cichlid (psittacus), and the pikes were quickly becoming the dominant fish. They would attack and chase my severums. A pike that's double that size would probably easily beat the crap out of your severums.

From what I can tell by pictures the ones we are getting are lugubris they are all together in the guys tank we are getting them from he says they get along fine with the fish he has them in with and one of them is a 4 inch black nasty and he had about 15 clown loaches in that were around 6 inch but I think the pike could easily eat plus 2 jags. Does it make a difference that those other fish are agressive or would the pike attack them no matter what.

Well we got our pike and buy my guess they are either lugubris or johana put them in our 4x4 200 with 2 other large fish and 4 7inchers and some convicts that with any luck they will eat. We added 3 good size chunks of drift wood to soften the water hopefuly they will be fine in there for now I will try and get some pics so I can get some help on identifying them.

Look was on our side they got rid of all but one bigger convict. Trouble is now our rd is hounding them kind of a stalemate they each take turns but the pike live in a corner thik we will take out the rd.
