That pike in the photo you posted is definitely not a lepidota. Its a crenicichla belly crawler I believe. You can post it in the crenicichla section to verify it. Even if you have a lepidota they get up to 8". Not sure about their agression, behavior, etc but you can ask the pike experts in the crenicichla section which will give you alot of help. ;)

You are right, I saw that pike mislabeled in a book as lepidota 20 years ago and it just stuck. Real lepidota are part of the Sax group

Definately a belly crawler. i kept mine with some south americans and for the most part didn't have problems with aggresion. just watch out for anything that resembles them in anyway (color, shape) mine constantly harrased a peacock eel and killed another pike, but ignored just about everything else.

i have a white spotted pike like yours hes a total terror hes 7 inches and he beats the crap out of my 8 and 10 inch oscars and 22 inch leopard shovelnose. total punk. he does eat pellets, krill, goldfish and beef heart, not the quickest growth, ive gotten 1-2 inches in a year where my oscars put on 8 inches in a year. he will definitely be a terror in a tank with africans, killing or injuring whoever gets in his face!
