So I purchased 3 juvenile orange pikes 2 months ago online…..two were definitely Xingo 1, but the third had much different coloration, and stayed away from the other two…last night at feeding time, this unidentified pike grabbed some market shrimp chunks, and a much larger yo-yo grabbed the shrimp hanging out of the pikes mouth and started swimming rapidly around the tank and extended its eye “spine” which went directly into the gills of the pike … ugh… within seconds the pike was just hanging lifeless from the spike on the loach …. I managed to chase tte loach with a net until the pike finally fell off … he wasn’t breathing for a few seconds, but eventually started to breathe again, only to die later….I’d just like to know what species he was…. About 4 inches long at death, very Cincta like, possibly xingu 3…. Any thoughts? Really bummed about losing it
