Pike or musky?

Not a pike at all, I would say redfin or grass pickerel but I though grass was only mississippi river watershed so i would say redfin. Got bars not chain-links or spot/ovals.

As stated it would have to be a redfin pickerel in your area, but young pike also have a dark line under the eye. The bar is usually straight down on a pike & grass or redfin pickerel it slants twards the rear of the fish. So without being able to count the pores on the lower jaw in the photo I would lean twords a small northern pike. (But its posibe its a redfin pickerel, I would need a photo of the lower jaw to be sure)

Looks like the pickeral in my pond.....I would say Chain Pickeral

I say small chain pickerel- Northern Pike are not common in northern NJ (where Essex Co. is) or in Eastern PA. But chain pickerel are very common - even in smaller streams. Redfin and Grass pickerel are not native to the region. I have caught several small pickerel in the fall particularly while trout fishing small creeks.

Sorry, never caught redfins but apparently they are native to the area. Many more chain pickerel than redfins in the Poconos where I fish the most.

thats a pike,no doubt about it.
