Ok, I have a female and two males of the species Crenicichla alta. The female, 4'' long, is in a 55g with one 3'' male. That 3'' male is constantly getting whacked by the female, even though she is starting to show a reddish belly. I don't know if this will happen to my other male, 4'' long (same size as female). This guy is in a 10g by himself, awaiting death brought to him by the female. The female is a pig, eating anything from feeders to zooplankton. The 3'' male, by contrast, is a heap of bones! He hasn't eaten anything for 2 weeks; I think he has actually forgotten how to eat! The 4'' male also hasn't eaten, simply because I haven't fed him.
