Pike Questions...

It'll work, but the pike will still be cramped. You won't want to keep very many fish in there with it. Large the tank the more comfortable the fish is gonna feel too..

Used to have a sveni..don't know where my pictures are...have some on photobucket i guess i could link. Fish that would go with it? Hmmm..in a 40 wide...oy...gonna be limited. Don't want too aggressive but not too passive. I'd say severums and firemouths would be a good start.... If you get it small you could keep it with pretty much anything...i start my pikes off with geos. a lot of the time if they are below 3"...

nice but can be VERY territorial. hopefully you get a mild mannered one and not the crazys ive seen lately.
Also good to give it a nice cave or wood piece to stake claim to. Im with peanut on the geos if the sveni is close the same size and put in at the same time. Severums are also good as they tend to swim in the upper level more.
A JD is too big/too aggressive right? If I'm right, what about a GT or an salvini?

Anybody? I need to know soon so I can start making plans, i.e. conivincing my parents to let me get a new tank. Parents they just don't understand
Go a 75gal tank, then you could do things A LOT easier! JD might work...you'll want to stay SA cichlids though, will work out better, so bump the JD and the Salvini (salvini are BEASTS..oy!!) and stay with the green terror. Are those really the only cichlids you have available to you? Cuz there are much more that would work just as nice if not better...severums, uaru, festivums, chocolates, true parrots (Hoplarchus psittacus) just to name a few...
