Before I got my Ven, my Redhook Silver Dollars were the biggest pigs I ever owned. I couldn't believe the way they ate. But the Ven I got a few weeks ago just puts those glutenous appetites to shame! This guy is a crazy eater. He eats and eats until he's about to burst. He also strikes food faster than my old yellow tail barracuda use to.

Just another reason that pikes are sweet fish!

Elastic stomachs are a known trait with these fish.Followed by voracious appetites.Post pics if possible.

Here is a pic after eating frozen silversides tonight:

This was sold to me as Strigata, but I am aware that it is likely Venezuela. By the looks of this picture, is it possibly a Strigata, or is it definitely a Ven?

lol, he's a fatty alright :D

if i had to guess i would honestly say strigata, but at the same time i am not too familiar with either of these creni. my ven. had more spotting on the sides of the head, but like i said...i dont know...
sorry,

Ocellated tail spot, possible strigata.

Stupid question here- How is an ocellated spot different from a regular spot?

A "normal" spot would lack the white markings around the spot. Your fish could lose it's ocellation as it ages though. Time will tell.

I have 3 orange pikes that are like best friends for some reason... They eat crazy too!!!
