pikes with bichirs?

Generally Crenicichla have a rediculous growth rate, lol. They have to grow faster than most fish because they are predators, and in order to eat other fish, you normally have to be larger than them.

Which species of Crenicichla are you thinking of puttin in with your bichirs? Thats the really important question. If you were goin with Saxatilis group pikes you could get one now and put it in there. If you were goin with Lugubris group pikes you could still get one, but I'd aim for one in the 3" range. LoL

I didn't know what species I'd be adding- the store I work in doesn't get pikes in often, and when our suppliers have them, they're generally just "pike cichlids." I ended up setting up a separate tank for pikes- I'll see how they do before I add them in with my bichirs. Hopefully a couple will be easy going and able to go in there.

If not, I have a 30 gallon as a grow-out for them, and a 20 gallon to put any that don't get along in. From there, I guess I'll just have to figure out what I can do with them.
