Looks like something I am totally unfamiliar with. So exceedingly little is known about the fish with your proposed ID.

I'd propose you ask on PCF. Or let me know and I will.

Whose photo is this and whose fish?

Stumping everyone lol, just makes me more interested.... its a w/c specimen from Columbia i believe, ill double check.... Pic is from a collector. I'm trying 2 help a friend/importer out. and feel free to ask the PCF community im just a nobody over there haha...

much appreciated thebiggerthebetter thebiggerthebetter ... got a confirmation on Peru collection point.

I thought it had a bit of vulture in it too, but definitely strong other characteristics.

Per PCF thread, Jools (the PCF owner) and Silurus (Dr. Heok Hee Ng) think you nailed it. Very impressive, Wed! If I faced this task from scratch, I don't think I'd get that at all - so little is known about this cat and the photos show such different coloration. Tell your guy to bring the fish(es) over. Looks like people like it. Smitty and I for two.

I'd call it a Calophysus macropterus...
Funny enough Silurus' first thought was the same :)
