Pimping the diet

At a local fish factory shop I was surprised to find some tilapia. Under a dollar later here I am with a whole fish to clean up. So it's filleted and diced, quite excited! The polys loved it, so it's a go!

Now, how often should I feed to my two 6-7" sens? Twice a week?

Feed them at all or the tilapia?
I'd stick to every other day and I do once a week tilapia. Mine all eat pellets that is a more balanced diet it has everything they need. Tilapia has some protein and fatty acids but it's not a whole food. They need a balanced diet to create the amino acids for health and growth.

I feed 2-5x a week depending on how busy I am. Not a good habit I know. Guess a once a week treat is fair

Don't stress it. Healthier for the fish if under fed vs over feed.

Some think meaty foods are better. I mix it up probably heavier on the tilapia tho.

That's true.
I'll try 3/4x pellets and 2x tilapia weekly. Hopefully this will work

I must do some updates, I've had these fish for a year now! And man have they got bigger

I am guilty of pumping them up with tilapia too. I don’t feed as much pellets bcuz they tend to make a big mess. Beside tilapia I also give them flounder, shrimps and anchovies.

Their wild diet is mostly tilapia and insects (for sens) if I recall correctly. More bugs then!

I believe this was posted a while ago. Diets in the wild are mainly tilapia. So should be ok.
