Pink Floyd member Richard Wright dies age 65

LONDON (AP) — Richard Wright, a founding member of the rock group Pink Floyd, died Monday. He was 65.

Pink Floyd's spokesman Doug Wright, who is not related to the artist, said Wright died after a battle with cancer at his home in Britain. He says the band member's family did not want to give more details about his death.

love their music..sorry to hear this.

A great loss for the prog-rock scene ... one of the pioneers has gone.

Everybody knows Roger Waters (due to his theatralic exit from Floydship?) and David Gilmour (the true heart of Floyd) ... but the silent man who created the place & sounds? Sometimes the loss tells the truth ...

I will hear "The Great Gig in the Sky" tonight - and i will play it LOUD!

this is really a sad news

one of my favorite artists, there is not a single playlist of mine which doesn't have floyd in it

RIP Richard Wright

He was NOT just another brick in the wall!

Hadn't heard the news. Pink Floyd was my first concert, 1994 Tampa. The Great Gig in the Sky. How appropriate.

He wrote some incredible keyboard arrangements. "Summer '68" and "Burning Bridges" are definately two of my favorites.
