hey guys, real quick question. this may be a dumb question but the white stripe on top of my BGKs' head is turning pink, it was white a few days ago. is this because of the bloodworms i'm feeding them or something else?
thanks in advance, just thought i'd check it with you all

Hmmm...I've heard of this happening once in awhile, but I've never experienced it myself. Examine it closely...see if it's an actual color change or maybe it scratched itself or it might be some infection/disease. If it looks like a smooth solid color, it might not be anything to worry about, but if it's irregular spots that kind of looks like blisters, might be your water parameters.

it's definitely not a scratch, the pink is pretty uniform along the entire stripe on both of my BGKs. they don't seem to be acting any different, if anything, they're becoming more comfortable and venturing out more. the 3 gouramis in the tank don't seem to have anything on them that would indicate a disease on them

How long have you had the BGK? And has the white strip in its tail also turned pink?

I've had them for 1 week and no their tails are still white

Is this all the time? When I startle my BGK - turning on the light when the room has been dark for a while, for instance, the black body of the fish turns purplish. Just a thought.
