The reason I asked how long you have had this BGK is that when stressed the white piece of their tail will go pink and I was thinking that it could be stress.
As you have only had the fish for 1 week I would probably put it down to this. I am quite sure feeding blood worms will not change its colour as my BGK is 10 years old and 14" and loves blood worms. Make sure you feed a variety of foods as BGK's are notorious for be very fussy eaters if you let them get that way.
If it is eating well I probably wouldn't worry to much. Just wait and see.
