Pink Tailed Shark

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i think it might be the larger one of the two but they are really small right now like and 1 1/2 in so i hope they turn out to be the smaller of 2nd fish

Either way, they need a very long tank. Both of mine are in a 125g & the smaller one (chalceus) is extremely skittish, bumping into the glass & decor if I approach the tank too quickly & losing some scales in the process. There is no doubt in my mind, this fish will jump out of a smaller tank or if the top wasn't secure.

Yes they are very jumpy, though I moved mine from my growout 55 to my 170 and he's a lot calmer...he still flies when he sees somebody but it's usually a short enough burst where he stops before reaching the other end.

How do they do in groups? I think I've read that they're nippy with each other but if they do alright in a group I'd like to get a few more, might make them more comfortable.
