Pirahana + Peacock Bass

Is it possible to keep a single pirahana with a couple cichla? Or do they need to be kept in groups only?

I think Piranha's should only be kept with piranha's. Other fish they will eventually attack and even kill.

there are rumors of peopel keeping P's with other fish but I dont buy it. It would suck to find a chunk missin from an expensive bass

P's really wont get along with anything but other Piranhas. When they are small, they might be timid around larger fish, but they grow- and fast. Eventually they will start fin-nipping and then eating other fish.

I think it will be the other way around. I would be worried about the piranna being eaten. Pirana's arent that dangerous on thier own. That is just what I think though. Only you know your fish.

yeah if there the same size, it might work ok for a wile, but either way your piranha is goin to bite a chunck out of the bass, and eventualy the bass is going to get way bigger then your P and quick, and will eat him if your Piranha dosnt take him out. what kidn of piranha is it? how big of a tank?

I'd worry about the Piranha, eating, my cichla were pigs and would eat everything within mins. of hitting the water, while my p's in a different tank were much slower eaters.

i suggest you not keep it with the piranha. mine was only 3 inch too .
