Pirahna with american cichlids

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
At my work they had a 35gal with four 4 to 5" pirahnas then a couple months latter they added a 6" jackdempsey at first the JD took some fin damage from the pirahnas but he soon took over the tank. He would swim the tank and the they would scatter to stay out of his way and if they didn't move fast enuff he would move them. They lived like this 4 a year untill the tank was converted to a African cichlids tank.

People ask because they hope someone has done it so they might have the chance to do it also

No. Some piranhas don't even like being kept with other piranhas. Piranhas are opportunistic feeders, I've heard them eat many different things including plecos

Depends on the fish, ive seen a few plecos with p's although the size difference must be significant!
