I put some feeder guppies in there. I think the only thing eating them is the jaus. Their bellies are HUGE! The filas belly though never looks like he ate anything. Might try some other stuff today.
Like milokai said, whats your temp? Mine started eating once it was about 80 degrees.
Also, I myself haven't actually seen my filas eat but I see fewer and fewer feeder guppies in the tank. I did see a fat belly one or a few times but other than that mine sneak and eat at night.
Ok everytime I went to post on this my internet would go out. lol.
But Its around 78, Im bumping ip up to 80 though. And mine doesnt have any spots like the others. Maybe b/c he is so small? Or I just got one that doesnt havethem
Jesus this thread is moving quick! In response to earlier questions yeah mine is feeding like a champ on feeder guppies still to bulk up but its not growing nearly as fast as that hybrid. I just got back from bing out of town since thursday and my hybrid is at least a 1/2" bigger that when i left if not more. Its caught up in size to my piraiba and was about 1.5" smaller then it when I got them about 2 weeks ago. Try feeding with the lights out if you aren't doing so already to induce feeding in the piraiba. I have just been stocking the tank heavy with the feeder guppies and allowing them to feast whenever they feel the need. I will probably take some updated pics later this week after some of my new fish arrive and I get them settled in
Yeah, no light in my tank and he is eating more. I'll put back the light after a month of heavy feeding. I'm sure he will start to eat. he looks good, good pictures. good luck
Still jealous of everyone here! My cats delayed due to snow again. I guess that means everyone gets a head start! Don't blink though, I'm sure mine will catch up! I have a secrete catfish formula for success! muhahahaha!!!!
