None of the fish I have are skittish, every now and then the limas are when someone runs by them, but other than that no. Fila is non-skittish I have to move him with the vaccum during tank maintenance. Jau is definitely not skittish although he would perfere to hide all day long. The id sharks sometimes spook the fila though. THat's the only time it does what you say. Might be because you have so many. One reaction from one causes a chain reaction. Think that's why my limas are like that. The jau is extremely aggressive towards tank mates and needs plenty of room or it will attack anything that gets too close to it. My old jau at 12" ate a 11" lima, then when in the pond at 13" bit a 14" channel catfish in half swallowing the tail, and leaving the head for me to find floating. Also ate a knife fish the same length as it. Ripped the fin off my biggest channel cat, and nearly ate my rtc when they were first together. RTC was about 2" shorter but thicker than the jau. Put feeders in with the old one, and it would go nuts. Soon as they hit the water he was scooping them up left and right and what he couldn't eat he would mangle. New jau already tore the fins of the fila, and the jurense and tried to eat one of my id sharks. I seperated them until bigger. After the old jau was to 18" he calmed down alot and I could even pet him without getting bitten. They are extremely strong for their size and highly territorial. They are best kept without any hiding spots if they are with tank mates. They need to be moved to bigger tanks way ahead of others so that you can keep aggression down. Yeah I love jaus, but they are terrors in the water lol. They do learn to tolerate other fish after a while though. They are worse than rtc when eating, and eating tank mates, and swallowing stuff. Other than that they are extremely hearty and don't die easily.
