My previous filamentosum I received from Wes at 5inches.. I was told he was from guyana. I cant find the sd card with pictures of that fish . I did send some pictures of him to Wes , I dont know if he still has them . He grew up in 8x4x3 with 7 satonaperca lilith .around 10 inches or so . They would nip his trailers so that contributed to skittishness. He started killing them so I removed them and then he had no more tankmates. He grew to about 24 in. I moved him into a pond tub outside and in 2 days a 20 inch or so jumper cat harrased him to death biting his tail and back.

Thank you mate. My sympathies and it sounds so much like my experience with many fish and not enough tanks but that's solid info for our cumulative piggie bank of fila knowledge.

What catfish are you calling a jumper? The only jumper cats I know vaguely of don't hit a foot. But this common name is applied to many obscure medium to small SA catfish.

Jumper cat bit his tail completly of

Doesn't matter... but you have 15 minutes to edit your post before you can't anymore. :)

Duopalantinus peruanus is the cat in my pond . He is metallic silver color . Some people mistake this fish for B. vaillantii. pretty cool fish . I have probably had him for 6-7 years . He survives winters outside in FL

Really? Yes it is one of the vaillantii look-alikes when small but D. peruanus for all I know doesn't exceed 6" by much... yet it is not a well known fish it seems...
