Great pics. What method did you use to get your payara off of live feeders? Mine will still only accept live food.
Hey Dacox, I would pre-soak the payara's food in Vita-chem... first starting w/ live feeders (i would inject them w/ a syringe), then tried on earthworms/nightcrawlers, and so on, so forth... til they accepted and took fd krill and floating pellets. They grew up attracted to the scent and taste of Vita-chem. Try it and see if it works for you. GL!

Everybody else, (Honda, darthLung, soggysand, IMF, RTF, and Steve)... Thanks for the kind words! :)

LOOKIN GOOD PHUL!!!!!!

Hell yea!

i would love to see a decent size payara i have only ever seen 2-3'' fish.
nice one thanks
Hey Dixon, I'd like to see a big payara in captivity, myself. :) I plan on picking up a group of scombroides sometime in the near future and hopefully grow them out. Probably will pickup a couple Rhaphioidon vulpinus, as well.
I like the Rhaph's feeding/hunting method alot more, than the payara's. Rhaph's do the "Full half-circle uppercut" motion to catch their prey... and the payara only do the 'Low-angle, quick chin shot to catch their's! :D R.vulpinus much more entertaining to me!

very nice fish n pics man!!
Thanks for the comp, Opiate! ;)
