How can you do that? Your other fish are already being eaten. The poor black/white convict has her tail eaten off. I smell an irresponsible keeper who thinks fighting is cool.

Anybody else share my sentiment or am I being anal here?

he did it for the sole purpose of feeders. not to see if it would work out. he made the attempt to try what i have, piranhas with convicts to breed n produce fry n food.

Actually - there are other fish that are obviously non-breeders in that tank, so your sentiment of a "feeder experiment" does not sound likely. That tank is also way too small for what he has in there. Even without the 3 big piranhas, the tank would still be a bit tight.

what are you talking about? its a 150gal tank, thats more then enough space for another 4 piranhas and the cons. there are non-breeders in the tank that are the ones that EAT the babies produced by the breeders. feeder experiment was my original idea. check my thread in the piranha sub-forum. and there are 6 piranha in that 150gal tank, not 3...

a 150 is plenty of room for 6 rbp, but he still could feed something like smelt for god's sake, not other live fish.

If that is a 150 gal, why are all the fish bunched up in that small section you photographed? How about a full tank shot? Just curious.
I am a Cichlid (and lungfish) guy, and I hate to see anything other than REAL feeders eaten/presented as food - and I am sure many others on MFK will feel the same. I was just voicing my opinion, which I am entitled to. Moreover, your male convict looks like a nice old "Granddaddy" convict - hardly a feeder.

I'm not totally against live food, but they should be able to be swallowed whole.

santoury. your missing the point... that poppa convict is a male, there are females, the SOLE PURPOSE of the project is to get the p's n cons to get along, let the cons produce fry, have the piranhas eat the fry. not feed a full grown con that cost 10 bux as a feeder. come on now. it was an attempt that didnt work out which resulted in a 10 dollar feeder, but that was not the purpose. his tank is just to establashed n didnt like the fact that new fish were in the tank, so his piranha destroyed his project. mine are still alive, mine produced fry. in the same tank with 9 piranha.

You asked for it... If it is a failed experiment, get the other fish out of there. (I think it's strange you didn't mention why the fish are so huddled up in that one end of the tank. WHAT ELSE is on the other side? 10 more P's?
I know that guy is a male - read my posts carefully. I very clearly stated that the pink one is a male. I don't see your point here.
Let me re-instate my points. The black and white convict has her tail ripped off. I see no reason for this to continue, or to happen in the first place. If you consider it a failed experiment, why don't you take them out, along with the Exodon, other cichlids? Your male is way too nice to even "try out"
Anybody else want to chime in? I don't feel like bickering with a teenager-sounding person. It's not in my nature. I simply don't like seeing fish destroyed like that.
