i couldnt decide where to put this but i figured ill put it here and the mods can move it where they see best.

so over the weekend i got 2 res. they came with a 29gal which is way to small for their size so i decided to put my 3rbps in the 29 and the res in the 40breeder. well i had put the live plants and the ps into the 29gal and started filling it. i kept tabs on them and they had pretty much not moved from the bottom left corner of the tank so when a plant came up on the right i just reached in. aparently chomp (the bigger of the 2) had moved right into the spot where the plan went and i got nailed. it just felt like little pin pricks so i didnt think anything of it, so i ran upstairs to the bathroom and started washing it. my dad heard and got out of bed to see if i was ok (he had worked the night shift). suddenly, there was a lot more blood than i thought there would be. i started to go into shock and i passed out. my dad ddnt have time to grab me so he just redirected me so id fall out into the hallway rather than in the tub. i did still get injured in the fall. i hit the back of my head on the hardwood floor and went unconsious. i woke up about 1minute later (felt like seconds) in the middle of the dining room about 20ft from where i fell with my head in my dad's lap and my brother holding up my legs. moms bad under pressure so we made her go in the bedroom so she wouldnt freak me out. so we went to the hospital. they gave me an ekg, xrayed the wound to check for fragments. despite me telling them not to, they called poison control and poison control had to call someone because they didnt know what to do. they cleaned it, gave me antibiotics, and sent me home. i have to go back tomorrow to have it checked. theyll stitch me up then but they wanted the bacteria to have a chane to get out. and yes i kno PICS!!!! pic 1 is the cluprit, pic 2 is me, pics 3 and 4 is before it was cleaned, pic 5 is the wound after, in pic 6 you can see the individual teeth marks, pic 7 is today.

lifes not easy yougn man =)
he could have killed you!

joke appart, you should wear a litle glove when doing that kind of thing in the tank if youre scared of blood.
if you were alone and pass out...can be worse than a bump on youre head

it wasnt the blood tho im ok with blood i forget what the doctor said the term for it is but the blood rushes to your legs and you pass out from anxiety and stress. this really was a freak thing im not discouraging people from these fish it was my own fault.

and im not getting rid of them it just makes them more special and made me the talk of the hospital. we could hear nurses outside talking about it and about 4 nurses came in just to look ahahaha

lol nice

i don't blame you...i never wore gloves before and i was taking care of the plants all the time.i even chased them(2) away if they cametoo close...may not be the smartest thing but thats how i behave from day1 with them...they go used to it

good job, i would have loved to see the look on the doctors face when you told him what happened
