i took all my hiding places out when mine got two inches exept for the castle and a buble curtain they seem much morehappy i use two potent powerheads hooked two a undergavel filter and blackwater extract once a month and my fish get pissed when i turn the lights off

i have fake plants in my tank but still I always see floating pieces from the plants i dont know why they keep destroying them, any help?

Whenever I have used fake plants they start to fall apart. It may not be your fish, it could just be the quality of your plants.

if your fish rip up your fake plants thats acually pretty cool there aggresssive if they are but there probably just fallin apart

haha that what i was thinking at first with these really thin long plants i had then i got fake amazon sword plants and the leaves were quiet thick and theres missing chunks and i seen them do it a couple of times

Two suggestions for a natural piranha tank. Use floating plants and mosses on the wood in combination with good plant bulbs. And also, use blackwater extracts, liquid peat, and or peat in the filter. The water in the amazon river that piranahs inhabit is so full of sediment that visibility is only about a foot.
