Piranha Id Help Needed Please

I just got this beast and no idea what pirnaha it is so any help would be great, its about 7" in size..

Serra. Rhombeus, looks like to be a diamond variant, any idea of collection point?

I dont have a clue as i just picked him up from a shop (friend) as someone brought it in as it out grew there tank..

i have tried to look at loads of pics on the net to compare but the only thing it looks close to is a gold diamond rhom or the 24k gold piranha ???, hence why i am on here lol.

gold diamond, blue diamond or black diamond are just common name added to the fish with certain color scales, all the diamonds will all have some silver, blue and/or golden color reflection under certain light and angle.
most will tell you rhom is a rhom is a rhom but each may have different appearance even from the same collection point.
even the same fish will look different over time, it looks pretty similar to a diamond rhom I had before, same fish but look different over time .

never heard of the name 24k gold piranha, probably is serra. maculatus, aka gold piranha, gold spilo.
 
that to me defenitly looks like a gold diamond rhom. i have one just like it though not ass big i expect mines to look just like that when it grows. i been looking at all sorts of rhoms and thats a gold diamond one.
 
Brought him in as he out grew his tank. Hope that they didn't stunt his growth by keeping him in a tank that was too small. Looks nice!I bet his colors get even better after he really gets to feeling at home. Nice find!

Nice find to the original poster. You'll have to show us pics of it in a few months to see how it changes.
 
looks like a rhom to me, prob a gold diamond varient.

Im pretty sure 24k gold piranha refers to brandtii.
