Piranha or pacu?

I heard it was a 1000 dollar fine from fish and game but maybe that was just hearsay. You just can't go around advertising that you have a piranha

Piranha
1. Piranha's caudal (tail) fin, is white, outlined with black.
Pacu has plain white.
2. Piranhas have the infamous "piranha underbite" where the bottom jaw is extended past the top.
Pacu have even bottom and top jaws.
3. Piranhas have clear pelvic fins.
Pacu have red pelvic fins.
4. On juvenile piranhas and pacu, the black dots on the body are much more visible on the piranha.
